Create an Open Living Space with Bi-Fold Doors
Bi-fold doors are a versatile way of maximising the amount of light available in your kitchen or conservatory and creating a picture-book look for your home. At Vivid Doors, we are pleased to provide a selection of high performance, wooden folding and sliding doors, as well as aluminium folding doors, so that no matter what style of home you are aiming for, you can achieve the look that you want with ease.
These bifold doors will provide stunning good looks for any home renovation, extension or new build. We have many years of experience working with self-build buyers, tradespeople and homeowners, and we have carefully selected our line of doors for security, quality and ease of installation. These external doors are compliant with current Building Regulations, and come with a ten year guarantee as standard. They are easy for any confident DIY enthusiast to fit, and are supplied with all of the hardware, including hinges and handles – although you may fit your own if you prefer.
A Range Styles and Designs
We stock bifold doors in numerous configurations to suit different room layouts and opening sizes. The most popular door styles are 2,1 and 3,1 with these numbers reflecting the number of doors on each side and how they move. A 2,1 door has two doors which ‘fold’ on one side and a single door that operates like a standard internal door on the other. In a 3,1 door, the three doors on one side will slide and fold back onto each other. If you would prefer a more unusual leaf design, then one of our made to measure doors may be a good option for you. When you are choosing the door configuration, take a moment to think about where the furniture will go in the conservatory, kitchen or open plan living area, and how much space you want on each side.
Choose from oak, hardwood, engineered wood and softwood or aluminium doors in a range of thicknesses and finishes. All of these doors feature large glass panels that are designed with safety and security in mind, and offer good thermal performance, keeping heat in your home while still letting in lots of natural light.
Whether you are working on an extension or just revamping your current home, we understand that you want the project to be as hassle free as possible. Many of the doors that we sell are shipped out fully pre-machined and come with everything that you will need to fit them, including the frame, doors and all of the hardware. They also come with easy to follow installation instructions.
The Perfect Size for Your Home
Each door comes in a number of different heights and widths to suit most common opening sizes. If you are not sure what door size you need, take a look at our measuring guide in the “Timber windows and Doorsets” section of the store. This will show you how to find the correct door size.
These bifold doors are pre-cut and are designed to fit into standard openings. We do offer a selection of made to measure bifold solutions. If you need hardwood, softwood, solid oak or aluminium doors in an unusual size, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us; we would be happy to design something for you.
